Financial Modelling, Business Avengers
Services/Financial Modelling

Know where your business is going. Not just where it's been.

Most financial models in Australian SMEs are one of two things: a budget spreadsheet someone built in 2019 and hasn't touched since, or a model a consultant built for a bank pitch that no one inside the business can actually use.

Business Avengers builds financial models you can run yourself, updated regularly, scenario-ready, and built by people who understand the operational reality behind the numbers.

the problem we solve

Decisions made without a model are guesses

You can run a business without a financial model. Most SMEs do. But the cost shows up in the decisions, the hire made too late, the facility opened too early, the cash crunch that blindsided everyone.

01

Cash flow surprises that could have been seen 90 days out

02

Investment decisions made on gut feel instead of modelled outcomes

03

Board presentations that show history but can't answer 'what if'

04

Lender negotiations without the data to support your ask

05

Acquisition targets evaluated without a rigorous returns analysis

A well-built financial model doesn't predict the future. It tells you what the future looks like under different assumptions, and lets you make decisions accordingly.

Who this is for

Right for you if…

  • You're making a significant capital or hiring decision and want the numbers stress-tested before you commit
  • Your board or investors have asked for a financial model and you don't have one that's credible
  • You're in a growth phase and need to know when you'll run out of cash under different scenarios
  • You're preparing for an acquisition, buying or selling, and need rigorous financial analysis
  • You're applying for debt financing and need a model that satisfies your lender's requirements
  • You have a model but no one in the business trusts the numbers or knows how to use it
How it works

Models built to be used, not filed

01

Discovery: We start by understanding the decision you're trying to make or the problem you're trying to solve. The model design follows the question, not the other way around.

02

Build: We build in Excel or Google Sheets (your choice). Clean structure, documented assumptions, no black boxes. You can open it, change an assumption, and see the output immediately.

03

Handover: Every model comes with a walkthrough session, a senior team member explains the logic, the key drivers, and how to update it as your business changes.

04

Ongoing support: We offer model maintenance and updates as a retainer, useful for businesses that need their model refreshed each quarter as actuals come in.

FAQ

Questions CFOs ask us

How long does it take to build a model?+
Depends on complexity. A 13-week cash flow model can be built in 2-3 business days. A full three-statement operating model typically takes 1-2 weeks. Acquisition models vary. We scope the timeline in the discovery call before you commit.
Do we need to provide historical financials?+
Yes, we'll need your last 2-3 years of P&L and balance sheet as a starting point. If your historical data is messy or incomplete, we can work with what's available and note the limitations clearly in the model.
Can you build the model in our existing Excel template?+
Yes, if your template is structured soundly. If it's not, we'll recommend rebuilding, a model built on a flawed structure gives you false confidence, which is worse than no model at all. We'll explain our reasoning before proceeding.
Is financial modeling covered in the 45-day risk-free trial?+
The 45-day risk-free trial covers our transactional services, AP, AR, Billings, Payroll, and Reconciliations. Financial Modeling is a project-based engagement scoped and priced separately. Contact us to discuss your specific needs.
